ScopeCom:   The only ( low Cost) commercially available dedicated* WiFI Module that supports Android and Apple IOS
  • Unlike currently available WiFi and Bluetooth telescope control solutions, the ScopeCOM module is compatible for use with both Apple and Android portable Smartphones and Tablets.
  • Most Android Smartphones and Tablets are unable to utilize the WiFi Ad Hoc mode to establish a direct WiFi connection to a telescope mount. Similarly, Apple iPhone and iPad devices do not support the Bluetooth SPP service which eliminates use of Bluetooth devices supporting serial data connections for these devices. The ScopeCOM product eliminates these device limitations and provides serial data communications over a WiFi network supporting both Apple and Android portable devices. The ScopeCOM WiFi adapter also supports WiFi connections using MAC and Windows computers.
  • The ScopeCOM -II module is powered by two AAA 1000 mAh  Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.  A charging unit is included . Typical charge will last about 6 hours.

Software:  on a PC or Mac Any commercially available telescope control software will work, also freeware, C2A, and Stellarium. For Android or IPad SkySafari works best and is very affordable.

First review:

Tony, I’ve been delighted with my new TakCom. I’ve been using it with my EM-400 Temma II M mount and SkySafari 4. The convenience of driving my mount with just my phone or iPad is terrific!

Many thanks!…Neil

Tony
Received the ScopeCom and also got the cable from my friend, what luck:-)
Read all the paper work and installed it in the Starmaster checked the settings and fired it up.
Did a rough alignment on the scope , started up sky Safari and it connected right away.
Went thru a bunch of gotos and it seems to work great.
